About CHURCH AND CONVENT OF THE POPA

Constructed at the beginning of XVII century by the Agustinian priests, it is at the height of 150m in the top of a hill. Navigators granted its name since it simulates the stern of a boat. Originally it served as a refuge for the fugitive black slaves, after it was the scenery of struggles and use as barracks and fort.
